Svetlin Stoev E-mail

Svetlin Stoev was born in 1966 in Stara Zagora. He graduated the College of Art teachers in Dupnitsa. He took part in all students’ exhibitions in which he left deep traces. In 1987 he was awarded with golden medal from the National students’ exhibition in Pleven; golden medal from the National exhibition "Kyustendilska prolet”. In 1989 he started working as art teacher.


The critics define him as a dark romanticist – surrealist.
Since 1984 he has devoted himself to his grand passion towards the Bulgarian Karakachan dog. In the period 1984 - 2003 he put his efforts in finding and saving the last representatives of the one of the oldest and rarest race in the world, coming from the Tibetan dog.
He’s an organizer of 26 specialized and 17 national cinema exhibitions of Karakachan dog. He laid the foundations of the Museum of Bulgarian Karakachan dog. He’s the author of 526 anthropological race sizing ups. He’s co-author of the standard for Bulgarian Karakachan dog accepted in the “World encyclopedia of dogs”. He has participated in the elaboration of a “Selection programme for Karakachan dog”. He’s the owner of the breeding ground “Buren” – for pure-breed Bulgarian Karakachan dog. 
He has worked on the “Bulgarian – Swiss program for saving the biological diversity” which aim is to moderate the conflict between man and predator. This almost 20 years’ work has a success. In February 2003, the Bulgarian Karakachan dog was recognized as Bulgarian race from the “North American Kennel Club”.
At the moment, Svetlin Stoev is the president of the “International Association of Karakachan dog”.

Svetlin Stoev has exhibited his pictures in some of the most prestigious galleries in the country. He made an individual exhibition in the gallery “Hamlet” in London. Some of his paintings are property of gallerists from Bulgaria, Norway, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Germany, Austria, and France.
